Stone Tools and Early Inventions in Prehistoric Times...

The first known technical developments occurred around 2.6 million years ago, during the Stone Age. Simple stone tools were made by our ancestors to help in defense, foraging, and hunting. These primitive tools signaled the dawn of human creativity and problem-solving abilities.

The Beginning - Early Engineers and Mathematicians in Ancient Civilizations....

Science and technology have advanced far enough to the point that one would think institutional civilizations like Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome moats me through every single creek yet there I stand in full armor unto the doorstep of the 22rst century - unsinkable. In 3500 BCE, the wheel, invented in Mesopotamia, revolutionized trade and transportation by allowing people and goods to be moved more easily.

The Middle Ages: Innovations in Agriculture and Exploration...

The Middle Ages (the 5th to the 15th centuries) saw major technological advances, including those in agriculture. The heavy plow and the later seed drill were two of the free markets' technology choices on display in Mesopotamia, and with these new food production technologies, human productivity increased enough to support population growth and urbanization.

There were also huge improvements in the navigation and ship building technologies of this time. The magnetic compass and astrolabe were part of this, as because of these advances in technology it allowed people such as Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus to sail far distances over the sea, this period was called the Age of Exploration.

The Renaissance and Scientific Revolution: The Dawn of Modern Knowledge...

The Renaissance (14th-17th century) was a period of renewed science, art and technology. It was during this time we also saw the innovatory printing press invented by Johannes Gutenberg somewhere in the middle of the 15th century, which changed how knowledge spread and made books more disseminating.

Three hundred years later, the Scientific Revolution of the 16th and 17th Centuries completely changed how humans thought scientifically. Prominent figures like Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton and Johannes Kepler made unprecedented strides in the fields of physics, astronomy and math. Modern science and technology have been built on their work.
